Geeky Mouse Cinema & Other Updates

HERE is the original post on the official blog. We've already posted most of these, but some are new.

"Dear Quest Travelers,

Sorry that we’ve been quieter on the forums lately. Well, we have been very very busy squashing the bugs and making updates to The Travels of Wiglington and Wenks Virtual World 

Some of you may have already noticed the updates, but just for the uninformed, here they are -

1. Geeky Mouse Cinema
Now you can view various videos from the cinema! Just scroll up and down to see the videos. We will be updating them periodically with original content we created or from our partners.

2. New Quest Travelers Guide
We now have a cool new button at the side of the virtual world screen that will link to a guide for Quest Travelers new to our virtual world!

3. Wiglington Town Guide
Wiglington now has a rotating question mark over his head, inviting new Quest Travelers to ask him general questions about our virtual world!

4. Wiglington and Wenks New Landing Page

As there are many wonderful sections on Wiglington and Wenks besides the virtual world itself to discover and explore - like the Kids’ Forum and the WW Blog - we decided that we had to upgrade our landing page and change the look to provide more buttons and information. We understand that it may seem a little cluttered but unfortunately, we really have a lot to say and offer!

5. Last but not least, we are working out various plans. They include -

- the selection of the Party Mod Trainees and working out a party schedule

- working out a schedule for our Mods to come on at specific times

- working out a schedule for Chee Yong, Galen, Aldric and Edrienne to come on at specific times

- the upcoming locations, historical people, games, quests, clothing, etc

- planning out a series of contests with attractive prizes

- and many many other features that will make your traveling experience in the World of Wiglington and Wenks just fantastic!

So during this time, if we are slightly quiet and slower to reply than usual, it’s because we are working super hard. But we can promise you that in time to come the main Staff members will meet you often on Wiglington and Wenks!

"Hey guys, WW will be undergoing quite a long maintenance mode today as we are prepping up many of the other locations, running some test and updating stuffs.

There will also be a time somewhere between 8pm -9pm Wiglington Time that the server will be out for a while as we will undergo some hardware upgrade. Please don't be alarm if you arent able to get into the forum. We promised to be back!

So let's all take the day off for a while, update our blogs and have a chat on the forum as we prepare for the launch!"

Mega Launch of The Travels of Wiglington and Wenks Virtual World

"This is history in the making!
The Travels of Wiglington and Wenks Virtual World will officially launch on this very special day. To honor Carto Wiglington and the spirit of traveling and exploring, we would like to invite everyone to put on their Explorer Costume and join us for this once and only historic grand event.
To commemorate this special day, all our Explorer Costumes will be 20% off from now till the the 31st of December 2009!
Remember members get an additional 30% off the discounted price for microtransactions!
Just pop into the De Style clothing store in Wiglington Town and choose your favorite Explorer Costume, then turn up in it on 24th December 2009 12 noon Wiglington Time for the mega launch. And no, of course we won’t turn you away if you come dressed any other way. Just turn up with a cheerful smile for us!

All the Wiglington and Wenks staff will be there, including John Bittleston and Eliza - the original authors of The Travels of Wiglington and Wenks and Aldric - the Creator of The Travels of Wiglington and Wenks Virtual World!

I have gone around the Wiki and found examples of all of the Closed Beta hats. Here they are, along with the wiki of the user I got the pic from:

Secret Beta Items!

There is currently a new item out. It is hidden in a secret location. Read Cheeyong's post HERE! According to him, the Open Beta (that's the current one) is coming out next week!
